Could find the old thread for this topic.

Today I learned that QF have renewed my Gold membership until January 2015 even though I only had 295 status credits (with 60 more planned/booked for rest of Jan).

I was certain I wouldn't be comp'd again. I'm wondering if this is due to having earned 10,150 credits since Jan 2003 (average 900+ per year). Close to 100% earned QF Dom which might make my account better for revenue. I still have about 15 months of paid QC membership on hold as well.

Anyway the QF program works for me I've booked 4 x OW RTW Y Awards (140pts) and 1 OW RTW J award (280 pts).

Program was worked out well for my after losing all those pts with Ansett back in 2001.

QF look at the last three years of history, its a myth that being comped is a one time thing, I suspect so long as your three year average is over the retain level then you actually retain that level? It's a very sensible policy that acknowledges our flying activity will vary year on year, often because of factors outside of our control.

Markis that sounds like a good approach. I'm expecting to hit the target myself for the next 12 months. While I have QC to fall back on that's not great deal of help on OW airlines.

Anyway 3,850 more credits to lifetime status :)

Looks like I have had my status extended to January 2015 as well despite being 430 status credits short of Platinum. I have a status run booked for tomorrow (with the double status credit offer) and i am wondering whether i should go ahead with it or cancel as i have already had my status extended. Any thoughts?

No. I was told by an agent prior to undertaking an AONEX that my future bookings prior to my year end were considered by the system before my status was reassessed. I suspect, the system checks again immediately after the renewal date.

Well turns out I wasn't comped :(

The system probably maintained Gold for a few days to see if any more flights would post.

It's been a good run at Plat/gold since about July 2003 after joining January 2003 on a 2 year corporate QANTAS Club membership. 10,210 Status credits with 98% earned on the MEL-SYD, MEL-BNE runs in Y so incredible amount of flights on QF metal.

The corporate membership has activated again so now Silver QC member. I guess if I don't re qualify as Gold I'll learn how much paid membership I really have less.

Now I have to learn Silver benefits/rules. At least exit row seats I picked in next 2 domestic bookings have stayed :)

I understand I get access to QC as long as I'm on a flight with a QF number. I have a flight from Perth to Joh'berg in October which is with South African Airways but a QF number so I assume I'm right for that flight?

Now I'm a PS :(

It is a shame you didnt get comped again with that many SCs.

I am probably wrong but I thought Qantas club lounge access was before a QF, JQ, EK and AA flight.

Looks like it should be fine:

Qantas Club members and Partner members are welcome at The Qantas Club when your next onward flight that day is on a Qantas, Jetstar Airlines* or Emirates flight number

Thanks JohnK. I booked a RTW OW Award for late Oct to early Jan so lost access for a few of those flights unless I can get back to 700 credits by end October.

Will have 120 by end Feb 14 but doubt I'll manage the next 580 SC in time.

I wonder if I had better access to award seats due to Gold status at time of booking, if so I squeezed on last benefit out of the system.

Thanks opusman.

Not sure what the QC INT is like in Perth. Not expecting very much but a chance for a shower before a very long flight.

I suspect Gold and above have access to additional award inventory on Qantas flights.

That has been a published benefit for a long time, although its value has decreased.

Then I just got this benefit before losing Gold!

I might do a search later and see if less seats.
