Not sure if this is anything new but this is the first time I've heard about it. It's on the main page:

Hotels | Qantas

Allows you to switch between Points & Cash. I also noticed that even when I selected points I could see "earn bonus points" for particular hotels. So is this like a ASA version of hotel stays?

Interested in everyones comments and see if it adds value to the program and would be interesting to compare value of points to say Velocity.

Don't know why but

"Use of Qantas Points to book hotels has been temporarily disabled. We apologise for any inconvenience."

I saw this somewhere in an email today. From memory something like 14,000 QFF points for ~$100/night hotel.

Hmmm. Choose between 14 nights in an ordinary hotel or a Oneworld award. The choice is so difficult....

one can't forget the fuel fines that come with a Oneworld award. Redeeming 140K for an award in Y and then paying a grand of fuel fines on top makes it less desirable.

In a way it does but it also depends on how much you value a Oneworld award. In my opinion a Oneworld award is worth at least $4, 000 so taking out $1, 000 odd in taxes and fuel surcharges still gives a value of ~2 cents/QFF point.

YMMV.
