Hi there,

This is first time I have to post thread because I think i got problem. I have booked a return flight of AirAsia for MEL-SGN-MEL (transit at LCCT-KUL). My name on passport shown HA NGUYEN AN in which HA (surname), NGUYEN (middle), AN (first name) but on the itinerary shown AN NGUYEN HA. I heard some friend said that name on passport and booking ticket must be same. It also happens with my partner and my son's names.

My friend was denied on board on last Christmas eve because his photo got a little bit damage (rain cause). I think AirAsia X is very difficult about the travel documents and baggage weight, so please give me some advice about this.

Thank and HAPPY NEW YEAR all you guys!

I don't think you'll have any issue at check-in if you had put your names in the corresponding fields when you were making the flight booking and the itinerary is simply displaying it in a particular order...

I also think like you but I book online so i put my name in first and surname fields myself, not arranged by the airline system. I have talk to the customer care, they said it's alright but the admin of AirAsia Australia page said that i need to change as soon as possible

A damaged bio data page is certainly a different issue to a name displaying back to front, I think you'll be fine :)

Enjoy the trip!

I often had this trouble flying MH, my names would be back to front. It was booked by the team the wrong way around, no issue at check-in, sometimes they changed the name which meant reticketing and others just wrote my name on my boarding pass and stamped it for customs. You should be fine. I would say its a fairly common occurrence.

I have travel domestic and international many many times but still worry about this airline (AirAsia) cause my friends have some problem with them, they had to buy a new ticket to travel without refunds. The last problem was my best friend denied on board on Christmas night, no emergency passport is made in this week for him, so he need to change his plan come home to next month.

You should be fine. A colleague of mine did that mistake when booking a flight on Expedia.com to travel from YYZ to DEN and the US immigration officer in YYZ only mentioned to him that his name was inverted. So I guess if US CBP officers are not bothered by it you should be fine flying to Asia...
YMMV
