What is the minimum time before a flight that bag drop-off is accepted for passengers transiting through TBIT?
How long is your layover? If you're on a connecting ticket, I'm not sure that MCT will necessarily come into play if delayed (I've had a very short transit in LAX due to late arrival, and my bag made it just fine).

2hr 10min. I often see the bag drop off agents look at their watch when they check the bag tags.
Interesting. 2 hours 10 should be plenty. If you're on a tight connection, chances are they'd automatically rebook you onto the next departing service (and if you're on the same ticket, you're fine).

I did T4 to T3 many years ago on a 40 minute connection. Just made it (with bags)!

1. Are you arriving into the US from an international flight ie do you have to clear customs with your bag before your connecting flight or are you departing the US

2. What airlines/cities are you connecting from/to?

3. Are both flights on the same ticket or were they booked separately?

Arriving into US but transiting through TBIT - so got to clear immigration, collect bags off carousel, customs, then bag drop at TBIT before you got to your relevant terminal.

This means that bags are tagged in OZ to final destination in US or elsewhere.

Whether separate or same PNR in this case irrelevant as the bags are already tagged to final destination. (Might be an issue though if they dont accept the bags due to lack of time)

So the question is about the minimum acceptable time for this bagdrop.
