I'm totally up for that as long as it isn't In-N-Out Burger as I don't do burgers
I think ddron, Mrs drron and I may be in MIA/MCO at the same time :?:

FWIW I posted our flying dates for Dec/Jan today.

For this trip we've only managed 9 flights, 1 chopper, three trains, 1 airboat and a dog sled

Getting a plaster now. No break visible, but can see fluid on the elbow. Will have to come back next week to the fracture clinic ... Parenting fun!!

That's quite a common scenario (? Radial Head # etc) On the upside it means conservative treatment will be successful :)

This morning for the first time in 20 years we saw swans from our garden-

One definitely black, the other more grey, probably a juvenile-

Now I admit to being a bit worried. What was to come.A black swan event?
But no.first a lovely lunch. Then arriving home to a very good EDR offer-$69 for 12 whites with a 1000 bonus points plus a $20 off my next purchase.
But there is more. When I disembarked from our last cruise I was at my heaviest-108.5kg.So I gave myself a target of being 95kg by the new year.Well today I hit the mark nearly 6 weeks early.
So now I think a black swan is a very good omen!:D

Grey definitely juvenile. From the PER home of black swans (not black swan events - they come out of the blue :D).

Well done. You are obviously doing something right.

I dont eat for 24 hours just to stay on the same weight.

Well done, drron! I, too, have joined the reducing club; was 105kg coming back from NYC in June - too many American breakfasts; since my marriage upheaval in mid October, I am now down to 98kg. I'm trying for 95kg by New Year, and 90kg or less by 2nd quarter of 2014.

Why am I awake & waiting for a bus at 0630 & heading in for a training day?

Your guess is as good as mine. No one can tell me what this training is. I've asked 4 different managers & various colleagues. I'm the only driver in my depot rostered this fortnight.

Same here. I was also 105kg and was referred to a dietician. Now 99kg after 2 months but going on a cruise on Sunday. I will need to do a lot of deck walking

A little walking every day will help, I'm sure.

I'm ashamed to say that back in 2001, I was approaching/topping 130kg. It was the result of 15 years of living in construction camps (working as management, not labour, but eating like the real workers), and not enough self control in The Mess.

Then, in late 2001 I was diagnosed Type 2 diabetic. Big wake up call. I started walking - worked my way up to 10km/day, 6 days a week. Dropped 25kg in 18 months. Worked off another 10kg between 2009-11 using a not-insanely strict version of Atkins - minimise the carbs, and sugars. But fell off the wagon with a couple of overseas trips and had crept up to 105kg by June - but now I am responsible for all my own meals and the food shopping, it's a lot easier to make sure there is no cough food in the house, and my portions are much better controlled (it's easier not to put the food on the plate, than it is not to eat the food aleady on the plate).

I just do 20-30 mins a day, walking at 6km/hr. That, and zero junk food/small portions, is shedding about 1kg a week for me right now.

This weekend, the soon-to-be-ex-wife reposesses the treadmill I was given for my birthday, so I'll have to start going outside and actually walking for my 4:30am exercise from next week!

Good luck with your own challenge, Major.

Thank you. I try to walk for 30 min every day and you are right about the portions...more veg and less meat/chicken on the plate.

Best wishes for the new phase in your life

With regards to weight loss, I've been really surprised at the hidden calories in food.

For instance, I was working in the office and wanted to buy what I thought was a healthy option. It was a very tiny chicken and salad wrap. I calculated the calories from the kilojoules listed on the packet and found it was one third of my daily allowance. And it was so small that a guy might even have had two! So really start to look at the calorie content of foods you buy.

Cruises are deadly for diets. I'd really think about how to manage that before you go. I've just returned from a four day one and despite exercising in the gym and doing two energetic Zumba classes I still gained weight! After two days I then totally cut back on food. Just yoghurt (no fat no fruit kind) plus a banana for breakfast, a boiled egg and protein shake for lunch (I'd brought some with me) and then just two courses (appetiser and soup) for dinner.

It's the coffees, multiple course meals and of course alcohol that will do you in. Just too easy to eat. You can almost see people getting heavier by the day.

Because the training staff only work dayshift.

Because the training staff only work dayshift.

Which is a PITA...

They'd get more training done & better use of the facilities if they ran 2 shifts.

A lot of people (me included) dislike the training because it messes with the shift patterns & how you need to fit into daywork to do it.

I've managed to dodge similar outcomes with Miss QF WP so far - same offending item. My daughter has blisters in the middle of her palm from the monkey bars - in the middle!! We often have to get her to stay off for a week or so when they pop

I was in Year 1 at school (so a LOT of years ago) and I still can see a boy who was trapped under one of those swings that had kids in pairs facing each other across the metal plate that formed the floor. He was trapped under the metal plate. Goodness knows how he got there but I don't recall him returning to class after he was retrieved by the then emergency services and taken away by ambulance. Kids weren't told outcomes back in those days to "protect" them.

Playgrounds are dangerous places.
