I had to book a return trip DRW-SYD on VA this week, so I thought I'd give the mobile app on Windows Phone a go.
Experiences have been poor. The app insisted on insurance, so I used Expedia on the work computer which runs an old browser.
Then mobile checkin wouldn't work. After contacting Virgin via Twitter for the return leg, apparently this was because I booked through Expedia. Just lame. Velocity number was in place - NFC Velocity card worked fine at Checkin.
Virgin are trying to capture more of the business market - nuances like this will test loyalty when Qantas "just works", noting the price premium.

I have the same issue on my Windows Phone using the Qantas app. It doesn't;t let me do mobile checkin because the flights are booked through QBT (I know!).. I can do it through the browser no worries though.

And here was I thinking it was perhaps a Sabre issue. Note I have tried through both the app and mobile website (which the app is effectively)
