Thanks JohnK - where do I find out more about this?

I have had a chat to another AFFer who has used the service and they thought it was worth it.

You should be able to get an express pass on QF as a Platinum and I have never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes in the express lanes. Just make sure to check the type of people in front of you in the queue as some are naturally slower than others.

Which service specifically JohnK? There are a few.

I'll make sure I get an express pass but I'm just checking for someone else.

I thought there was only one meet and greet service. He is in Thailand right now. I am sure there was a thread created on the experience last year.

Hey guys

Have booked a last min trip to Thailand including BKK next week and have a few quick questions for those who frequent the place.

1 - Average time it takes to get through immigration. Last time I went it took over an hour.... Just wondering has it improved?

2 - Best lounge (for departing BKK on return). I'm a QF WP. Think the top two lounges are the QF and EK lounges from what I've read on here. Have only ever used the QF lounge.

3 - Most important - need a cool and funky restaurant with some wow factor to go out to dinner on a Sat night. Don't want a stuffy silver service place, my fave type of restaurants are like 'Chin Chin' in Melb and 'Mr Wong' on Sydney - pumping atmosphere, great food and the 'in crowd' ;) Am staying at the new Hilton Sukumvit so anything reasonably close to that could be cool... Thinking something up a tower with a view could be good as a bonus.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Probably too late, as you'd have left..... but here goes:-

1) Immigration never takes me more than 15 minutes. BUT it takes ages to get from the plane to there if you're walking. If you've scored a 1st class ride on Thai they take you on one of their funky golf carts. Have done it a few times but one does feel like a bit of a prat.....
2) QF is good, Thai is better.... But both excellent.
3) The Lebua Hotel atop the State Tower has a two fabulous restaurants and bars on the top floor. Brilliant views and great food......
