Looking to go somewhere for 5-8 nights between 21-29th of December.

I realize its likely the worst time to try have a holiday but I am wondering if there were any good deals on offer right now.

Good to have:
Beach
Resort Style

Areas:
Anywhere in Aus/NZ
South Pacific

Anyone got any advice on where best to look or what locations to try?

Unless you love hot, stickey, humid conditions then for me, anywhere north of the Gold coast is out which would also include most of the south pacific. From personal experiance I would think of the North Island of NZ but just south of AKL. I am thinking of the east coast around places like Tauranga (Mt Maunganui) great surf beach, clean white sand, 2 and half hours by car from AKL airport or 35 minute flight. Or any of the beaches on the Coromandel peninsular like Whangamata, Whitianga, Pauanui.
Good weather, warm around 25-28 degrees, not humid, not stormy season. Nice and relaxing

Just my 2 bobs worth......many years of my old (very old ) stomping grounds
