Received a PRomo today saying spend $25 x 3 on groceries/fuel and receive 5K in bonus points.
Throughout the letter it states "Altitude Cards" and actually has a picture of a AMEX card on it.

BUT THE FINE PRINT AT THE BOTTOM: Can only be used with number ending "VISA number"
Further fine print has Amex Amex mentioned.

Rang Customer support and initially told "yeah you can use both", will check with boss and then NO ONLY VISA!
Asked have complaint put in as took 15 minutes to find out that False/deceptive advertising and told would need to inform complaints myself......I got the name and Now TWO complaints will be lodged.

POOR FORM WESTPAC!

Hi all,

When are we to receive the 5K bonus?
I rang customer service and they are following up.
Fortunately I'm under 7.5K per month limit even with bonus points phew

That sounds about right for Westpac.

Lodge a complaint with the ombudsman. It's the only way they listen.

As predicted an absolute nightmare and still have not received points.
7+ phone calls.....2hrs on the phone, 7 people to get to the complaints department and told that sometime today 30/10 I should get my points so I can transfer to Velocity before the 31/10.
No compensation just sorry sorry sorry.

My advice. If you aren't getting success and have evidence, dont bother with lots of phone calls

1) Put it in writing (email or secure mail is fine) threaten to go to FOS
2) If you hadn't had success within a week then lodge a complaint with FOS

I pretty much guarantee their response will accelerate
