What's the accomodation trick?

Included the cheapest accommodation option for one night and it brings the price down as they cut their booking fee which is quite big, you don't have to use the option.

Note that this doesn't work if your time away from home is greater than 26 days.

Book flight + hotel, but only book one night in the cheapest hotel. It becomes cheaper overall to book one night at a hotel, but you don't need to show up and stay at the hotel.

-edit- whoops, didn't realise this was already answered :)

Off to SIN on Friday for a quick weekend visit MEL-SYD-SIN-MEL, so a nice F lounge visit Sat morning with hopefully a massage and many champagnes :)

Was tempted NOT to go this weekend as the weather in MEL was going to be 28 and 28 but now it's 28 and windy and then 24 on Sunday

Bring on a nice SIN weekend at the Conrad :)

Anyone doing a SIN or Conrad run on the 26th-27th? I have decided to do a weekend turnaround as the fares are so crazily cheap. And points + pay rate wasn't too bad either.

I will be heading back on the 27th.

Just received my QFF statement, which shows I can redeem a reward seat MEL-SIN return for 60,000 points + $434!! That values my points at about 0.5c each based on the current QF sale fare of $749 and close to nothing based on the Expedia br price!

That sounds about right to some of us.

Any idea when the sale ends?

QF.com quotes the sale as ending on the 12 of Nov

If I remember correctly (and please correct me if I am wrong), expedia.com.br will quote the sale rate until 2359 Nov 12 on the Brazilian timezone so you effectively get almost an extra day on the QF date.

Poor example. How about a one-way MEL-SIN in business? Better value?

I can't believe how good the .br deal is. I've just booked ADL-SYD-BKK-SYD-ADL, with the BKK legs on Emirates on the QF code. As a WP I'll earn around 21,000 QFF points and 90 SCs. I chose the EK flights in order to avoid the QF A330 and also to give me an afternoon in the Qantas First Lounge and a couple of hours in the EK lounge. I will also receive a night at a three star BKK airport hotel, with transfers.

As an extra bonus I will have a two week holiday in Thailand!

And all this has cost me $584.

I know it's a poor example. It was just amusing that it was shown in my statement!
Sorry. That is what I meant. Not sure why Qantas would put that on the statement.

Admittedly my statement included a return economy flight to DFW which I guess is a little better value. Or maybe not.

Guys, you can also bypass ex.br and book via skyscanner.com.br and then change the currency to aud which shows roughly the same rates as ex.br.

Why does my IE browser always want to load skyscanner.com.au?
