I arrive at 1115 on the 29th. If you dont mind waiting for me? :D

Lowjhg ,Where r u coming in from ? Is there any chance of getting there earlier ? You arrive about 1.40 after me and i must admit i'm not to keen to hang around HBA for that long, especially with no lounge access ;-) ( Damn you Virgin , hurry up with HBA lounge) . Let me know.

RooFlyer - What sort of travelling time from HBA Airport would I be looking at to :

A) Swansea
B) Coles Bay

These are my times; I don't slow down to look at the scenery.

HBA-Orford 45 mins (my commute :) ); Orford-Swansea 45 mins; Swansea - Coles Bay 45 mins

Stopping for coffee and not being familiar with the road (but not including sightseeing stops), HBA - Coles Bay 2.5 hours.

Some excellent wineries on that route too. I recommend Spring Vale (Pinot Noir); Freycinet (Riesling and Sav Blanc) and Milton (Pinot Noir) especially.

Great wine drives: Tasmania - Gourmet Traveller

Thanks Rooflyer . Wineries are somewhat of a weakness . I may need to hire a driver for the day instead of hiring a car :D

Its fine then, i guess i'll head to the hotel myself then :)

Thanks JessicaTam, samh004, penegal and any others (you know who you are) for organising this. I can now be moved to Platinum. :)

Arriving JQ711 @ 1935 Friday, departing JQ712 @ 2015 Sunday. JQ far from my first choice, but Price Beat Guarantee against TT flights, given the relative expensiveness of QF and VA flights at a reasonable hour made it impossible to pass up. Guess I may be a little late to dinner on Friday.

Staying at The Old Woolstore.

Looking forward to it.

At the moment I am still scheduled to be overseas at that time; else I'd be happy to meet you and dive you 'up the coast'. I have a holiday house at Coles Bay - Freycinet National Park. best place on earth - y'know?

Hmmmm .... in all seriousness, if I do manage to get back in time, I could do a chauffer job for 3 (or, squeezing) 4 people who arrive early on the 29th and we could do a wine tasting up the East Coast to Coles Bay.

I will work on this a bit harder and get back.

Hot off the press, I see Qantas has inked a deal with MONA and a part of what has been announced could affect all attending AFF7.

“To celebrate the partnership, from October to November we will offer Qantas customers two-for-one tickets upon presentation of their Qantas boarding pass or Qantas Frequent Flyer membership card at museum reception.”

Qantas and Mona sign two year partnership

I wonder how this could affect how we buy our tickets, as wouldn't the ferry include a ticket, but using our BP's we could save with 2-for-1's...

Perhaps the organisers (no pressure :p) could make some enquiries, as I certainly would like to buy my ticket early and save myself queueing, but I also wouldn't mind saving some money.

Thanks for the head's up. The ferry does not include entry, that has to be purchased separately. Interesting that the 2 for 1 only needs a QFF card to be presented. Which is lucky, as I am flying down on JQ and back on VA!

I will find out if this can be booked online to save the queueing.

Accommodation now confirmed . Will be staying at the Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel . Picked up a great rate through work of $132/night. (Direct was $174). Happy with that.

Stayed there last year. Good hotel and close to everywhere.

Something I still need to organise! Will check out the above hotel.

I have now confirmed my return flight to Sydney on Sunday - VA1537 @ 5.00pm . Out of the blue tonight I noticed they now have this flight now for $109 on a Saver Lite ( even > $100 with the special code). Has been showing as $220 only o/w for the last few months . Great deal considering the exe pricing out of HBA to anywhere on Sunday afternoon / evening . Great opportunity for those heading back to SYD or further north.

I've just booked the Quest Savoy.

Noted.

Getting close now, I better pay my dues I guess and buy my ferry ticket ;)

I now have to change to Bronze now as I will be in HKG and KL during those days. Look forward to seeing pics and hearing all about it :)
