Flying J DXB/SYD on QF8417 (EK A380).
Was upgraded at the gate to F.
Gotta say it was hard to see the journey end.

So who to thank?
Emirates or Qantas?

Lucky you. Possibly a bit of both having QF status and EK being good at opups helped.

It has been a long time between upgrades. Years. So not much Luck / QF Love there.
Just maybe the QF codeshares on EK metal may deliver more upgrades as they can come from either side.
Anyway will be doing a few more Syd/Dxb/Syd in J. Will book the codeshares to see if there is another F upgrade.

I must say having flown only once with EK as a QF WP, I feel more looked after with EK...

Must say the shower before arrival in Syd was fantastic. Nice way to be looked after. First time ever feeling really good as I deplaned. No need for an "arrivals" lounge visit to freshen up.

So far it's a bit of a sliding scale for me. First EK sector was great, second was good, third I was just another passenger.
