New Qantas Toolbar - Earn Bonus Points just for searching

Stop working on 5 out of 6 accounts. Did real searches and still got barred. The toolbar support staff are a joke.

Still working for me but only got 25 points last month. I don't do a lot of searching and too time intensive for the return

time is spent better on the phone booking a MASA for some real points earning... :D

Speaking of which, have you made the call yet ;)

Just checked out points earn. Between us we should have earned 300 points .. we only earned 195.
Hmmm... Not worth chasing up, but if it happens again I'll stop using it.

I think it's capped at 150 points per user. So if you did 255 of the 300 searches for example, that would explain why you didn't get 300 points.

Both our screens were showing 150 at the end of the month. The total of the points issued was 195. Odd.

I've had 150 pts earned showing at the end of each month, but I didn't get 150 either time in my Activity Statement, so I emailed support. I had to send them the requested 'toolbar information' and it took a couple of days but the missing points and another 200 bonus points were in my Activity Statement today. Gotta be happy with that. Hopefully I don't have to chase every month. It doesn't seem to have been very successful. Not too many are happy with it.

What do you mean by 'toolbar information'?

I've had August post in it's full 150 points goodness as well as July posting the correct 4 points.

They gave me a link and I had to copy and paste the info that came up on the page.

I see that they have a methods of stalking us. At least this is to our advantage of chasing up missing points? o.0

I wonder what info comes up. The info on what we searched?...

Nah, it was just a 'toolbar ID', 'user ID'. I'm sure they would have ways of checking what was searched. Isn't it all about tracking search habits for marketing purposes?

-shrug-
If that's the case, I don't know what QF will do with game maps and walkthroughs xD Or the fact that I use the toolbar to load up VA's page hahaha.

Not sure if I'm shooting myself in the foot by doing this or not, lol.

I'll bet some people's search history makes interesting reading. It may not even be Qantas that's collecting / using the data. They may just be a pawn in the game too.

True, never thought of QF being the pawn... So that's how they're keeping QF afloat!

Qantas Pawn, Qantas Rook, Qantas Knight, Qantas bishop, Qantas King, Qantas Queen, Qantas Chess are all valid search criteria ;) .. as is "keeping QF afloat" :p. Now I wonder if anyone gets anything meaningful from my searches?

Worked perfectly for me the past 2 months. Points have posted a few days after the month has ended. Haven't had a chance to get the laptop out this month. I'm not able to fly at the moment and haven't been for a little while, so the ability to still earn points, while only a small amount has been good for me.

has worked well for me, points credited promptly. Don't care is they see my browsing habits. Its all about the points!

So far 150 points each month.
Instead of clicking "Favorites" I simply type the site I want into the toolbar and earn a point. Simple really.

time to earn some points while having some fun...

Search: How can I book a MASA
Search: Why not to use the word "Marginal"
Search: Whats the ASA hotline number
Search: Why were I incorrectly charged a booking fee on my MASA
Search: Why were Award flights at classic pricing removed from the website
Search: Whats the best MASA for $ per SC
Search: Whats the "Right on Q" reference number I should be using...
Search: Who knows a competent IT company I can refer to Qantas to get MASA's back online
Search: Where is it clearly explained the fare rules for my recently booked MASA
Search: How is it possible to be quoted a co-payment for a MASA at $1k then call back 5 min later and book it for half that

Well that's 10 QFF thanks to Qantas I guess :D
