What do you want from Business Class seats on Virgin?

That gentleman might have been me (I registered for the 1730h session).

I first had to work out how to get into the building - there's no clear front door!

I left my card with the managers so I'm still interested in the clinic when it will eventually happen, which I'm told should be soon (and in a better location, too).

Sounds like it may have been a third person then as this was for the 1830 session. The confusion about the entrance wasn't isolated though as the man ahead of me got help from someone and the door closed about ten seconds before I got there so I wasn't sure if I was in the right place. I walked around the two sides looking for signs and finally resorted to knocking a number of times and just hoping.

I didn't leave my details (actually, don't think I gave or was asked my name in hindsight) but would definitely be interested in participating when they reschedule. Only got a quick sneak peek of what had been awaiting us and wanted to go investigate :)

So what is the go? Has this been canceled for tonight as well? I am yet to hear anything.. I will give them a call..

My only real gripe is the 'comfort' on the 777's.
Sitting there is one thing, but on the recline and trying to sleep on a long haul has always been impossible for me.
I sometimes look down at the floor thinking maybe I'd be more comfortable laying down there.

I don't know how the selection process goes for J seats but sitting or laying on it for a few min might feel comfortable.......but that's a somewhat different experience to sitting in it for 15 hours and trying to sleep for half that time.
Sadly I am tied up with work or I'd love to check these seats out.

:)

I have but one suggestion, take a flight in the new J class seats on CX A330's and B777's, they have everything I need, with heaps of storage space and room, by far the best of current J offerings.

Cheers,
Dee.

so virgin are eager to please their 'valued guests' with a workshop type thing to gather opinions...yet they fail to realize that many/most of their valued guests have adjusted/jostled/set aside TIME/HOURS/A DAY to attend this poorly executed cancelled/delayed event!!! poor show VA !!!

I have flown Virgin a few times in business on the 737s and found the seat, crew and the meals generally good, but the afternoon cheese snack I hate that, but one thing I don't like is the lack of IFE.

There was foxtel on the plane that I was on going to Perth but the passengers in business class don't get to access it. Yes I know we get the tablet, which was better than the previous version but I guess that is a big let down, the IFE.

Who's brain deaded idea to add a decent seat and meal but leave out the biggest thing that Virgin Australia had going for them in the early years was the IFE.

And not just the business passengers but those in row 3 and 4, the ones who travel the most or who have paid the most get the worse IFE.

I'd love all the seatbelts to be the same length!

See the thread Am I Getting Too Fat For My Seatbelt....

Maybe they're just moving it to Melbourne for notzac and I to attend ;)

It's never nice when things don't work out. It's good to see that VFF has replied to QF WP above.

May I ask if you were personally one of those who attended? I ask because your post appears to be quite emotional e.g. caps lock, multiple explanation marks.....It's like you're yelling at the computer ? If it is indeed distress regarding your personal experience, I hope it's all okay now :(;)

Yup! Somewhere along the track our members seem to have lost the theme of what the original thread was. Boys and girls, it was not about attending a VA meeting, it was a simple question regarding what we would like to see in J on board Virgins aircraft, be they A330's, 777's, or 738's. Get it right!!!!

Cheers,
Dee.

Okay, for Domestic Short Haul Business Class, I quite like this at a 51" pitch (although, preference for cloth trim over low grade leather, and also with integrated AVOD)...

You obviously haven't read the OP then?

dk4's post about JAL domestic first class is right on the money. Having had the pleasure recently of several sectors worth of JAL 1st class domestic travel, it leaves everything else domestic I've tried far behind;

1. Seats are very comfortable indeed
2. Service is sensationally good
3. Price is amazingly good

failing product offering

I took a recent PER-MEL overnight flight with Virgin on their flagship A330 product. There were 3 people including me in Business Class. I got to see the manifest inadvertently and was amazed to see a total of *3* Platinum frequent flyers on the flight, me being one of them. The other two were in Economy.

Based on visible Q-tags, the typical Qantas PER-MEL sector has 3 Platinum frequent flyers in *Row 1*.

Quite a contrast.

As great as the A330's might be, poor lounges, poor food, inconsistent service, lack of spirits, no IFE (737s), poor 737 seating will mean that most people will just stick with QF

How do you get aisle access from every seat in that config? I am sure you meant to say 1-2-1;)
