Having exhausted any possibility of trying to get guaranteed upgrades in QANTAS to fly to Europe for myself and my family, I have concluded that it is hard to justify being loyal if in the end they don't reward loyalty with other than providing overcrowded lounges and the occasional lottery on Bus Class upgrades, The Enrich Program for Malaysian provides Aus to Europe Bus class tickets for 120,000 points less 15% if done on line. So the question is whether it is possible to fly QANTAS and accrue points on MH Enrich.

Thanks in anticipation

I guess there is no way to transfer the points I have in QF FF to MH Enrich now.

You need to look the earn vs burn: not the just burn,
Freq flyer miles/points/avios are not equal (just like currencies)

Highly llikely you would be better to accumulate AA miles rather than MH. AA, QF & MH are all OneWorld members. So have access to award flights with these airlines (and others) using AA miles (subject to avaliibilty). Carefully check what $ copay fees are required with MH awards. AA does not have $ copay fees, except for BA flights

IIRC Qantas have never had guaranteed upgrades on international flights: always been a lottery

Others with actual dates will no doubt supply them, but a long time in the past, QF international did do confirmed international upgrades. It was back in the days of Upgrade Credits, and IIRCay have needed classic award availability.

Used to have some strange yield management. I recall having a BNE-FRA booking in J in 2002 all on 1 flight no (via SIN) and wanting to upgrade. It couldn't be processed as the system had F upgrade available on SIN-FRA bit not on BNE-SIN (was the same plane all the way through, and F was bein sol on BNE-SIN).

Fortunately flight was booked via an agent who had stuffed up some other aspects, and had to keep me happy (I had a written quote for the whole package, and they had forgotten to include some costs - they wanted another $1,500 or so, but could be forced to honour the quote if I was to push it). I got them to split the single BNE-FRA segment into 2 separate segments, same flight number still and on same PNR. As a J booking with only a transit, the price didn't change. Once split, I could happily upgrade the SIN-FRA legs (both ways) to F - and this was confirmed in advance.

I did pay them the amount they had left out, but nothing for the ticket reissue (not sure if they incurred any charge for that or not). This was all for 2 pax.
