Bumped - should I have been informed

Changing a seat selection is unfair.

For example: I like flying on 738's but only in row 4. If I can't get row 4 - I'll switch up to a 767.

When your entire reason to fly an aircraft is the seat - it's not unreasonable to expect you'll keep the selection, especially as a WP.

I was moved again for what appeared to be no reason on a PER-BNE flight.

I had chosen 23J and was moved to 24D. Not the end of the world but I was told I moved as the bassinet was required. This was ~30 minutes from boarding. Lie! Not a single baby on the flight and it was a lightly loaded flight.

Boarded to find 2 guys with no status sitting in 23JK and 23AB vacant.

Why was I moved? Because they can? I choose a seat because I prefer to sit there and would appreciate it if people leave my seating allocations alone without consultation. It has been happening way too often of late.

Oh and if seating allocation does not mean anything and is not guaranteed then do not offer it as a benefit and lets have a free for all at boarding....

Did you mention this to the CSM at all?

Maybe he/she could've asked the guys in 23JK to move to 23AB so you could sit in 23J.

A lot of pax on transcon flights use points to do ODU's so I'd say 23AB did just that which explains why those seats were empty.

At least let the CSM know that you were told you were bumped to 24D for a non existent infant & you could produce your OLCI boarding pass for 23J as proof.

I take it your eagle eye sighted the boarding passes of 23JK to ascertain they had no status?

Do you communicate this was the reason you wanted to be on a particular flight? I normally choose my reason to fly by destination but each to his own.
