I'm looking to book a flight out of Canberra on a Saturday morning in August to Brisbane. The first VA departure to BNE is VA1211 at 0850, although there are several other VA departures earlier to MEL and SYD. There are only two VA arrivals before VA1211's departure, one from MEL and one from SYD. VA1211 is an E90 as is the MEL departure, but the SYD flights are ATR72s.
Given the time of the year, and the propensity for fog to affect incoming arrivals, I was wondering if anyone knew whether VA1211 was typically on a plane that had overnighted in CBR, or if it was usually the plane that serviced in incoming flight from MEL.
If there's a good chance that VA1211 overnighted in CBR, I'm more inclined to take the chance of no fog delays departing and book it, but if not, I'll look at going to BNE the evening before.
