Hi All,

Sorry this will probably sound like a dumb question, but I had to ask to make sure :) I've only ever flown QF twice...

I have CX Gold.

I will purchase the red e deal QF ticket for SYD-MEL return and registering my QFF member number against the booking. Can i gain QF Club access at SYD and MEL if I wave my CX Gold card? even though I have the ticket with my QFF account?

Thanks,
K.

The answer is definitely YES but much more learned AFF'ers than I will hopefully be along to tell you the best way to go about this :)

Should work. Just show your card and bp. They should let you in without issue.

If they comment (and I doubt it), tell them you're sick of cx and starting the long haul to Qantas status. They might laugh.

At worst, (but it won't come to this), get them to remove the qf number and add the cx number. Then once inside the lounge get them to remove the cx number and add the qf number... (this may get messy with crediting if someone stuffs up though).

Dont worry about it overall, you will get in.

Ok thanks. I'm sure someone here has done this before albeit with a different combination?

Not in oz, but overseas. Presume the cx card is an Amex one. Makes no difference in the bigger picture really. And yes, I believe many others would have done exactly the same thing you're intending to do without issue.

To add to this, if I had a Y QF Domestic Ticket with CX gold can I check in at QF business counter or I need to be in the Y counter?

I do this on AA from time to time as i'm only gold with them (and no lounge access for elites on AA's program when only flying domestic). Show BP with AA FF number, show QF WP card, and i'm welcomed back :)

Oneworld Sapphire can check-in at business class counter.

Thanks. The only reason I won't be putting my CX Gold member on the Red e deal is because I won't get many miles if any for SYD-MEL-SYD. I will put the QF NB number and I will get 2000 miles for the return flight... Is this correct? I will on;y use my CX gold for business checkin and QF Qantas club access.

Although I think I won't be able to pre select seat being QF NB...in Y

As mentioned by others. Have your CX Gold number in booking to pre-allocate seat and then remove this number and put in your QFF Bronze number to earn QFF points.

Check your boarding pass to ensure correct FF number is in your booking.

Thanks JohnK. Can I remove cx gold number and add my qf number online or does this need to be done over the phone/in person?

Have you got many ways of accumulating QF points? If not then 2000 points in a QF account will not get you very much - in fact will get you nothing.

I am not sure. You may need to call but from memory i have seen the Add FF number button in manage my booking. Not sure if there is a remove FF number button.

Anyone can pre-allocate a seat once they've done the booking even with no status however the selection won't be as good as what you see as a OWS pax.

If you choose to leave your QF NB in the pnr just keep checking the seat map as often you can select a seat further forward 24-48 hours prior & even on the day.

Thanks. I will probably put my cx gold number and then make the seat selection then replace it with my QF NB number.

Hi everyone,

I will travel to HK on the 17th may (departure time 9:40AM) and i am QFF Platinum but i need to guest 2 people. Is there anyone travelling on the same day who can guest 1 person ?
