Thinking of flying J with my family of four back from an African trip. I need to fly Dar es Salaam to Melb.
I can get 4 J with points Dar to Perth with SAA then I will go virgin to Melbourne at my cost. Or I can fly Dar to Dubai cattle class then Singapore J to Melbourne on points.

Any thoughts on which would be best???

SA's J A346 hard product is excellent. On my second long haul SQ A380 in J I found the bed a bit narrow, particularly at the feet, although it's plenty roomy at the top. The SA bed is more like a bed in that it's more or less completely rectangular, like a skybed.

Please report back on DAR.

I think I will fly j with SAA. I will do a trip report on return.
Will see how I go booking. Plenty of availability on expertflyer.

Only issue will be having to pay to fly Perth to Hobart. Will see work on that next.

I managed to score 4 business class seats on sa ...flights are booked Dar to Johannesburg then onto Perth. Never flown with SA so I look forward to the experience. My kids are spoilt rotten.

Don't forget to check the operating equipment SAA operate the A340-300 most days which have an almost but not quite fully flat seat.

Here are a few photos from my SAA flight EZE-JNB in Jan this year.
Nice enjoyable flight, met expectations but not outstanding, no wow factor. Wines were good served in proper sized glasses.
