Hey all,

I'm a travel agent, need 60SC before the end of the month to be first time platinum

First off is it worth it?

What do you all think would be the most efficient way?

I think:
MEL-BNE-MEL ECONOMY $700
MEL-SYD-MEL BUS/ECON $830
MEL-AKL-MEL ECON/DISCOUNT ECON

Thoughts?

Thanks
Will

Don't really have time to do a lengthy trip, would have to be a day return.

MEL-ASP-MEL

$930AUD Flexi Saver

60SC

Can be done in 1 day turnaround, same plane.

Expensive but would do the trick - just make sure you get to use the F lounges as much possible to offset the cost :) also should help your upgrade chances MEL-LAX which would also offset the cost

Mel-AKL discount economy return and do an internal dom flight return in NZ before you return to MEL.

If your flying regularly then yes it's worth it. Your AKL option gives you more points and SC's. Domestically, consider CNS which earns 80 SC and 500 more points than ASP ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1365682310.356704.jpg

A simple MEL-SYD in J (40 SCs) and return in Flexi Saver Y (20 SCs) will do the trick. Can be done in a day with ease and depending on how far in advance you book and the time you could do it fairly cheaply. And of course Platinum is worth it if you're going to travel overseas during the membership year you have it.

Surely as a travel agent you should know this?

Could do a flexi saver to Perth (40SC) then a red-e back (20SC) or vv.

Flexi saver $459 (I swear these were $440 til a few days ago...), red-e if you are flexible should be $250.

That said doing J & flexi to Sydney would be much easier as described by hvr...

Or you could take a short holiday over the anzac day long weekend if you have a bit of flexibility. I got $719 for SYD-BNE-SIN-BNE-SYD which is 80SC in discount economy. Lounge access, fun in singapore, etc make it worth the while. Ask yourself "why not" :)

Hi Will,
Assuming you work M-F, try Sat 20th April for the following...

MEL-SYD-OOL (QF400/QF860) $230 on a flexisaver getting you 40SC
OOL-SYD-MEL (QF861/QF439) $186 on a Red-E getting you 20SC

$416 to get to platinum...absolutely!

Hope that helps, Good luck

Ash
