I just joined AAvantage, but I'm unsure how I go about registering my miles.

I'm flying tonight with Etihad. Does it matter that I joined AAvantage after I performed a web check in for my flight?

How is the AAvantage system aware of my flight(s)?

Thanks

The easiest way now would be go back into to your web check in and see if you can add your AA number into your flight details, then re-print your boarding pass with your AA number on it.

If you can't do that, when you get to the airport go to the check in counter and ask them to add the AA number and reprint your boarding pass.

Make sure to keep your boarding passes with the AA number just in case the miles don't post to your AA account and you have to make a retrospective claim.

Thanks so much!
I'm trying to redo the web check in, but it doesn't seem to like that I am doing it again. I don't recall seeing a field for entering the AA number though. I guess I will ask at the counter.
Thanks again for your help.
