Hi All,

First off, apologies if this has been asked before - I did a quick check and couldn't find anything.

If I book a reward flight using points and travel before the end of June and earn status credits, does this mean the flight also counts towards the eligible sectors as well? I only need 4 flights to hit Plat and have a return flight to Sydney this weekend and a return flight to Mildura at the end of April and I am just wondering where I will end up?

Thanks everyone

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes, the reward flight will count.

According to anecdotal evidence from members that is........I don't think there is anything written about it on the VA/VFF websites or other publicity flyers.

I think sefty was one who did receive the eligible sectors and I don't think anyone has stated they have not, so all looks good.

Thanks guys - I thought the same thing but as I said couldn't find anything to confirm either way. We will see next week!

Hi there, clarifying this because it perhaps isn't exactly clear online (which we will update) - any VA flight that earns Status Credits, counts as an Eligible Sector.

Fantastic. I've been a naughty boy and earned 960 SCs without any Eligible Sectors so this will help me get my platinum requalification a bit more cost-effectively. Thanks for the confirmation.

I'm looking forward to burning some points tomorrow for a day trip to ADL (unfortunately a funeral :(). First Reward seat booking I have done, so thanks to Supersonic Swinger for pointing me to the right page.

No problem. I can confirm from Easter long weekend travel that the status credits post within two days of travel.

Excellent, thanks for the further clarification. My BNE/ADL, ADL/MEL and MEL/BNE sectors should score nicely then in my account

My reading of the link in Post#6 above is that it is a special offer that expires on June 30.

I had good fridays flights post saturday and easter sundays flights show up monday. Not sure if being a reward seat made any difference.

Can confirm my award flights booked Friday, taken Sarurday and posted Sunday. Posted as expected - SC's and Eligible Sectors, no points

Eligible sectors now 0, so at least one of them counted

Thank you this link works and it shows we have until June 2013 to use this option.

Cheers.

How did you manage to earn 960 SC's without an eligible sector??

SYD-HND return for two in J on SQ, using family pooling. 120 SCs on each sector. Unfortunately at the time I booked there were no VA codes on the SQ service to Haneda, although they were added at some point just before I flew. Was a bit disappointed, because assuming the pricing was similar flying on the VA codes would bring a better points haul as well as picking up four eligible sectors.
