I'm in the midst of trying to plan an Asian jaunt 'slash' status run, and was just wondering if anyone was aware of any other airport security rules or procedures that are worth noting, so as to better plan my packing. So far I've found the following:

*Manila: No umbrellas can be taken past the checkpoints (incl small fold-up ones, not just pointed umbrellas). Basic screening points at the terminal entry with full screening after check-in also. Not sure about other Phil airports, but I'll likely only visit MNL.
*China: Liquids forbidden on all domestic flights, but allowed on int'l flights (incl to HKG).
*HKG: No duty free liquids over 100mL are allowed onto flights destined for Australia, even if purchased in the departures lounge.
*Thailand: Pat downs are not gender-specific (can that be requested though?)
*Singapore: Possibility of arrivals screening, and all departures screening is performed at the boarding gate.

Other countries (and specifically, airports) of interest would be Japan (NRT), Taiwan (TPE), Sth Korea (ICN), Malaysia (KUL), Pakistan (KHI), India (BOM and DEL), Vietnam (SGN), and Brunei (BWN). Perhaps not *all* on the same trip, but it would be great to know what to expect ahead of time!

Many thanks to anyone that can help! :)

I recall security (ID) checks to even enter NRT (on two occasions, one via hotel shuttle bus, one via NRT Express).
