My local Woolworths and Coles in Sydney stocks products, as do many chemists.

Jackson Universal Multi-Voltage USB Travel Adaptor for $26 from office works. I have two and they work well, also charge USB for iPad/phone. (Can only use one USB at a time for ipad or iPhone )

From memory Dick Smith, 7Eleven etc. Not very expensive.

I have an Australian one that can accept power charges from any country and I also have a Thai one that can accept power charges from any country.

Every time I use this with my little travel hair dryer, I blow a fuse. First time in Guatemala, tricky but I now carry a few spares. Defeats the purpose though.

LOL maybe stay in better hotels:)
this often happens in Italy if you plug in anything!

I still buy online, but chargers aren't always chargers and converters aren't always converters.

Someone recently did a Teardown (ie disassemble) of quite a few USB chargers and it was interesting what they found. Some products were purely shoddy.

I've seen different levels of quality in plug converters. Some actually Scare me...

But there are many good ones out there.
