112000 points + $849.64 " Fees and Taxes " to fly Bris to NY ???
Why would one bother earning points if you can fly with United for less than the " Fees and Taxes Plus QFFP " that Qantas requires !
Maybe the Woolworths QFF program is not all that it appears to be?

Point to point economy redemptions are poor value with QFF points.
The strengths of the programme are business and first redemptions, upgrades and One World awards.
There are many resources on AFF to help you maximize your QFF points redemptions

Lots of gems hidden in the forums by the sheer number of threads, a simple search won't bring them all up but some research over time will ;).

You're welcome :)
No worries,
Not sure where to take it from there but still, as far as I can see it is still going to cost us more " points, plus pay " that it would to pay outright to use United.
Looks like QFFP are nowhere near as useable as they used to be.

Not sure what dates you are looking at but there are QF classic Y awards BNE-LAX-JFK for 64,000 points plus $490/$490/$460/$484 at 1 month/3 months/6 months/12months out, respectively.

Yes, as you stated initially it will be cheaper overall to fly United economy than redeem your QFF points for similar flights.
The thread I linked discussed the best value for QFF point redemptions, it will not help you to book your desired flights but should give you an idea as to the best value redemptions for other award flights.

GoBigOne seems to be looking at points & pay (as alternative to cash) and not an award.
May be a return and not one way.

Yes, maybe? The post was about the cost of BNE to JFK, so I took that literally as one-way (i.e., as an each-way fare), rather than BNExLAX-JFK//JFKxLAX-BNE.
