Doing a sc run down to sju in May.. Going to sleep overnight in the airport. Just thought I would ask if I should be aware of anything before I get there? Or if anyone has any secret spots to sleep in the terminal?

can I get my sju-Mia check in ticket the day before when I'm heading down to sju? ( how many tickets can check in give me in advance?)

cheers gogo

Can you sleep in the airport ?
I would feel far safer tucked up at the Hampton Inn YMMV

Reading the sleeping in airports website.. Said there is always others sleeping in there.. And that security was normally happy with you sleeping air side..

Just stay in the airport hotel.

Bed, shower, breakfast, 10 steps to the check-in counter ;)

wow you are flying across the continent in First Class then you want to slum it sleeping in an airport terminal, have you checked the cost of a hotel?? If you can't afford it then you shouldn't be SC running imo.

As many others here I've been to SJU a few times, given the old best western, and the sports bar over the road there is no way I would sleep at the airport.

Even as last flight In and first flight out.

First Class in the USA is only a minor step above coach though ;)

I admire your spirit but you'll be climbing the walls by 3am. Book the hotel.

fwiw I never saw anyone around sju after the last flight in.

Sleeping over in an airport after a F run is all sorts of cray.

Book a hotel room and leave your vacant airport sleeping space for 19 yr old backpackers ;)

Each to their own, no reason for anyone to say if he can't stay in a hotel he shouldn't be doing a SC run...

It does give you some interesting tales to tell people in the future if you have a variety of exeriences...

Maybe just take a bit of stuff to make it a bit more comfortable if you do it, when i slept over in Atlanta last year i ended up having to roll up some paper to stick in the ears when the cleaners came around, so if you can collect (or take with you a previous) inflight amenity pack with the ear plugs and eye shades, something like a pillow or a jacket/jumper you can roll up if you don't have an actual blow up pillow will make it more comfortable... A jacket might also be good to keep you warm... then just hope you can find something a bit padded.. And a few snacks and a drink or bottle to get some water... Do they have free wifi there??

But I agree if its like $20 or so for a hostel bed somewhere will probably be more comfortable... :)

Didn't realise the hotel has a fitness room (might not be very impressive?).. But that pretty much seals the deal!! :)

It's also about a 3 min taxi ride into Isla Verde if you want to check out some of the casinos / places to eat.

Rubbish, it's a huge step above.
You must have never flown F in the USA (I've done around 10 Y flights in AA, and well over 100 F. Unless you get one of the re-fitted 757's or 767's, you're in old style F seats on a 737 even the new ones, or the MD80's).

Premium Economy on QF International is a lot better than any regular F on any US airline (With the exception of 3 class trans cons, and the few exceptions above).

drewbles, what does the F on refitted 757's and 767's compare to in Australia?

Why not just get a public bus? They’re safe, inexpensive and reliable, and after all it is the USA.
If you're on the breadline it will save you at least $5-10.

And I do have to say that I have been to Puerto Rico many times, but always in F on "UA" (now CO). I got to know the hosties so well that the purser on several of these fights said I reminded her of her ex-husband. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing!

I'm with the OP, I often sleep in airports before/after flying premium cabins :) It's about value, not just affordability .... I just don't see the value in spending $100+ on a hotel if only going to be there for 8-12 hours to sleep.

But then again, I'm very good at sleeping in weird and wonderful places :D

(not looking forward to my overnighting at HNL landside next month though!)
