Hi All,

I have a trip booked from Melbourne to Singapore for June in "J" return. This was booked well before this whole Emirates/Qantas 'Alliance'.
Pretty sure this hasnt been confirmed, however I would love to know if they are running the refurbished 744's to Singapore from Syd.
All is know is that they are only A333's from Melbourne and I HATE the sloped MK1 skybed. If they are running the refurbed 744's from Sydney, I'm very tempted to change my booking, so as I can get at least a good night sleep on a flat bed home.

Anyone have any ideas on this and maybe whether they think it is worth changing a 7 hour direct flight into a 12 hour. I guess the Syd First Lounge access may have answered my question.....!!!!!

Cheers

I think you will find the only option is A332/3 ex Sydney over time, QF5 is moving to that aircraft from May.

Thanks markis10.

I will certainly wait until then. Not worth changing anything unless I can confirm a 744.
Thanks for the info.

For the time being BNE-SIN is a 744 although not sure if this is of the refurbished variety.

My booking for the second half of the year shows a refurbished cabin config for that sector. Not sure what is operating sooner though.

Hardly time for a good night sleep on that sector then adding the int to dom transfer plus flight to Melbourne makes it a pain in the butt

BNE-SIN (as posted by johnk above) is a daytime flight, so I would not be expecting a good night sleep ;). The return SIN-BNE is a different story, of course.

Shows you how much I know if the 747 is refurbished or not.

I am about to book SIN-BNE-SYD for May-July and have not really checked the seat maps on Qantas website but I am guessing you need something like ExpertFlyer.

I'm booked Mel-Syd-Sin 17th June and the Syd-Sin leg is refurbished 747, returning 30th June Sin-Bne-Mel and the Sin-Bne leg is refurbished 747 again.

SIN BNE is often a refurb, I am also seeing QF5 as a 747 today, the other day on the dates I looked at it was an A333, so looks like they may be playing around with aircraft!

I just checked using ExpertFlyer for QF51 from 1st May onwards (random dates) and all show as refurbished 744 aircraft.
