Sri Lankan Airlines - J Class

UL have some very attractive fares from Asia to Europe but how good are they?
Could anyone who has recently flown them give an assessment,please?

I haven't flown with Sri Lankan before but I believe they will be joining One World sometime soon (this year?). If so, you could earn QF points while flying - look into it and see if you will be applicable. This could be a nice bonus.

PS... How attractive are the fares? Have you used bestflights.com.au to see if any other airlines are just as competitive (from memory BKK to Europe is very competitive on Qatar and Etihad which would be much better than Sri Lankan).

About 1900 BKK-CDG-BKK if you can find the availability, been playing around with it for a while but waiting the OW joining first

Sri Lankan is very good. Full lie flats on most of their fleet, and fast connection times in Colombo. With their recent Valentine's day promo it was 14% off all fares, bringing Bangkok-Rome in at around $1669. The food is tasty (not gourmet), service is good, they have basic spirits, beers and champagne. Lounge in Colombo is good. I don't use IFE so can't comment.

Yup if you combine that with a cheap YASA/JASA it is a very cost effective way of getting to Europe

now just waiting for them to join OW, it is quite hard to find Z class available though unfortunately

My parents are looking at some kind of Flight Centre promo with SriLankan, ~$2900 for PER-SIN-PER with Qantas in Y then SIN-CMB-CDG-CMB-SIN with Sri in J. They've asked about the seats in J but it appears as though they would get fully flat which makes for a stella deal.

i'd price it in its component parts as well. of course you grt security being all on one ticket... but the Sri Lankan fares used to be around $1600-1800... making it an expensive QF add-on. although maybe prices have changed...

if it is much cheaper as separate tickets... can always stay overnight in sin as a break to the journey.

I have only flown Sri Lankan HKG-BKK in business and I could not fault their service.

Lounge they use in HKG is not the greatest but once they join Oneworld that will not be a problem.

I would not hesitate to use Sri Lankan again in business.

I have flown sing-Colombo -Rome , then LHR-- Colombo-sing' great airline full flat beds great food and service, will ALl WAYS go to to Europe this way from now on.
