Booking QF Award on Malaysian

Howdy.

Looking to book KUL-KTM with a classic award. Before I sit on hold for a small period of time - two questions

Whats availability like, generally speaking. Are seats easy to find or do you need to book months in advance?
Has anyone got the assistance fee waved because its not possible to book online?

Not sure about availability for KUL-KTM, however last night I did a phone booking for 2 x PER-KUL-CDG return in J in June/July. Availability was reasonable especially for that time of year. At the start of the booking I said it was not possible to book Malaysia rewards of any type on the website and they waived the assistance fee.
