Singapore QF/BA lounge new changes

I have never had problems entering the Skyview lounge myself, but as per Austman's post have generally been politely advised where the QF lounges are ...

The 'place" QF/BA SATS lounge excuse thing in SIN is simply a joke.
Tonight it is/was wall to wall with noisy guests- people with feet & shoes on chairs, rubbish food offerings & warm beer..
Not without mentioning random people enjoying loud conversations on mobiles & general unenjoyable lounge ambience.
I shall seek some recluse in the bar downstairs..

They must have done a study trip to Australian QPs to emulate the decorum.

Thought I'd post some feedback on the lounge situation to see if other members are having a similar experience.

- Platinum Lounge (old First lounge): Was told this is now a BA only lounge and as a P1 I would need to use the Emirates lounge. Denied entry.
- SATS (now Biz/QC): certainly better than the terminal and not too bad really.
- Emirates Lounge: Was denied access because my name was not on the official list of P1/CL who were flying that evening, despite booking tickets weeks ago? Weird. Another passenger (CL) was denied as well. It took 10 - 15mins and a lot of talking to convince the agent that we were supposed to be there. Felt like they were doing me and the CL a favour... odd. Emirates lounge food selection is great, really good infact. I'd put it above every QF lounge I've been to and a close 2nd behind BA Terminal 5 and QF F Syd/Mel lounges. It's certainly worlds better than any other oneworld lounge in SIN and well worth the visit.

Weird, wonder where a Vanilla WP travelling in on BA CW and out on QF J (unless the op-up gods are kind) goes ??
I guess I'll find out in March

That is certainly at odds with the info on the QF website. At the least you should have been permitted into the old QF F lounge, and not have to argue the case at the EK lounge.

That is quite a poor experience.. you would think this would all be sorted out by now.

I'll be another WP litmus test....early April (should be in the new set up) in whY traveling with 2 kids & the cheese & kisses.

Two weeks ago the Cat family (WP X 3 + SG) were welcomed into the First lounge without any problem at all. Must admit I was a little surprised, but found it much better than the SATS lounge (to which we had been directed at check in). I guess it's luck of the draw. The dragon was actually hovering around outside the lounge, checking boarding passes and turning people away. Must have liked the look of us...

Technically the WP lounge, but here's hoping for you.

I'm WP arriving in F, departing in J (maybe F if upgrade comes through), so I guess depending on the upgrade status I will either be in EK F lounge or WP lounge at the end of March (last hurrah A380 trip to Europe while it's still via SIN)...

Hopefully the have their cough together by then, and aren't just confused more due to 1 April further changes...

Hmm interesting - Miss FM is flying QF10 sin- mel tomorrow night. She is WP and flying Y with boyfriend in tow. She intends gong to the business lounge which is what I told her WP can use. She is only 21, so will be interesting to see what happens. - will report back. :)

Tell her to 'lose her cough' if they refuse entry. Usually not too much trouble for most 21yo ladies IME ;) (but not too much, they do have machine guns at SIN )

She is far too gentle, but she is used to people trying to deny her privileges based on her age so is getting more assertive. :)

I'm happy to provide lessons, I'm only 9 years her senior but was battling my way into F lounges at her age. How serious is this BF anyway? ;)

Have been absent from AFF since Christmas. Quite surprised by the QF's execution of these temporary arrangements. Based on posts here the yo-yo info vs on ground experience is disappointing to read.

That aside, during refurbishment, temporary arrangements that up to the same standard as normal is too bd expected.

Not that I utilise the SIN lounge that often, & happy for that. I just feel sorry for the premium passengers having to continually put up with the B- grade lounge existing facilities being offered.
The refurbishment appears to be taking a very extended period of time, & hopefully it would be a true enhancement.

I'll be traveling through SIN with wife and kids in Feb, hopefully they don't enforce the BA One guest policy at the F lounge in SIN...Where's Red Roo? I'd like to clarify if the SIN F Lounge is now a BA lounge or a joint BA/QF lounge.

I would be very interested to find this out also !

Damn, dissapointing, but not unexpected.

I haven't flown QF ex-SIN for a little while. I was contemplating giving them another go, but I really can't see any incentive for someone in my position to fly QF between Australia and Singapore.

I agree that the EK lounge is actually quite reasonable. I have taken EK404 / EK405 a couple of times and been impressed. The flight times aren't quite as convinient as SQ, but they are still okay. I am keen to try out the new DXB offering next time I am in that part of the world.

I can't see how this could be a BA lounge, and even if it were, you are entitled to enter.

I believe the SIN lounges were both operated by QF, not BA (even though joint lounges). I believe HKG/BKK are operated by BA as joint. I can't imagine BA have suddenly staffed a lounge in SIN, but with what is going on it is possible.

Considering SIN is (apparently) QF's asian gateway, they really are treating the passengers like schmucks.

I wouldn't hold out on any appearance by RedRoo, they have not shown themselves for quite a while. Taking the 'duck and cover' approach to customer service.
