Hi All,

Just thought I would start a thread on benefits given to QFF members by QF codeshare partner airlines (Non OneWorld) (such Business class checkin, priority boarding.etc) as generally these aren't advertised on the QF or operating carriers website but are often displayed at the airport.
This is not an official guide but I hope this helps some people in making choices when flying and negates the need to ask at the airport.

I am starting off by adding information on Air Pacific (Fiji) and Jet Airways (India) who are codeshare partners in their respective countries where QF doesn't operate its own services.
Please feel free to PM me if you have experience with other partner airlines/codeshares or just post in the thread.

Need info on these airlines (I may have missed some in this list)
Asiana (Korea)
Vietnam Airlines
Air Niugini
Air Tahiti Nui
Air Vanuatu
China Southern
South African Airways

Enjoy!
----------

Airline: Air Pacific (FJ)
Routes: Between Australia(All ports) and Nadi, Fiji
Benefits:
- Business class Checkin for Qantas Gold, Plat & CL (Confirmed by signage) http://bit.ly/TvrnOV
- Priority Boarding for Qantas Gold, Plat & CL (Can be hit and miss, best just to line up with QFF card in toe in case asked).

- Lounge access in Nadi only when flying on QF codeshare ticket and must be Qantas Gold, Plat & CL.
- No special seating for QFF's

Airline: Jet Airways (9W)
Routes: Between Singapore and Mumbai or Delhi only
Benefits:
- Business class Checkin for Qantas Club, Silver, Gold, Plat & CL (Confirmed by screens above checkin)
- Priority Boarding unknown (Once was told to join the Business queue when they saw my Qantas Qtag, otherwise other times boarded via general queue).
- No Lounge access in Mumbai or Delhi unless flying Business Class.
- No special seating for QFF's, however if booked on a QF flight number it would appear that QF have specific rows of seats blocked for QF pax, ordinary seats no bulkheads or exits.

I would be particularly interested in Vietnam airlines, Gold flying on a QF ticket to Ho Chi Minh, any benefits, anyone?

To add to the Air Pacific lounge access in Nadi, you are allowed yourself and one other guest.
They do not follow the Qantas family policy, myself and the kids ended up waiting in the main departure area.
More guests are allowed if paying $75FJD per person.

Just a week ago Family Speedbird001 checked in at QF F counter at SYD for QF code on AirCalin SYD-NOU. No dramas (other than nightmare of QF system containing incorrect info on passport remaining validity for entry = boarding to New Caledonia). It's six months required; not three advised by QF. Took AirCalin as carrier two attempts with authorities to be granted an exception for one of my daughters.

Thanks Speedbird001, did you receive any other benefits like Priority boarding or lounge in NOU?
Also did the Boarding pass issued at QF F counter have your QFF status on it or just your QFF number?

(Anecdotal)

When traveling on an SA flight number on domestic services I have had my status recognized (traveling in Business) and when traveling on the QF codeshare to Perth I have also had my status recognized.

Haven't returned yet (regarding your question about NOU lounge and, besides, returning from VLI as no NOUSYD or even NOUBNE seats available when I booked) but we did get Express Path for Departures at SYD, which was very much appreciated given the length of the other queue!

BP had our QFF# but did not include status. Hilariously, the concierge at Flounge entrance (not desk upstairs) 'checked' BPs but didn't notice no status listed despite feigning diligent attention to them to ascertain Flounge access rights.

Another example of QFA not knowing its own rules - and this time not from a lowly concierge (probably a contractor) - but a check-in supervisor who brusquely stated "we don't check-in AirCalin." Er, her colleagues already [rightly] begun the process and I just pointed out to her the signs above her head clearly including AirCalin name and logo. I ask you....!

VN ticket on a QF codeshare flight to SGN

Granted priority check-in & boarding at SYD with QFF card (I was prepared for a refusal)

But not at SGN though, the priority line is for their Sky Team Alliance only (of which I have no status).

I am not sure what would happen if I had a QF ticket. Would they give priority check in & boarding at SGN given that it is a QF ticket despite the Sky Team logo?

Next time, I would book a QF ticket so that seat selection would be possible through MMB (I hope so anyway).

This is a great thread. In a while it would be great to see a 'sticky' compiled thread i.e. qf master thread with all this together. Often it is difficult to ascertain through the regular qf channels as to what benefits are available for codeshare. It really comes down to word of mouth half the time, as things often change.

My search led me to this thread which stated FF points & SCs are available on VN-bound QF codeshare flights (see post #5)
