I have a very unusual question that I need help on. Can someone here confirm what colour the toilet seats are on a QF A380 in J? Are they Black or some other dark colour?

Can't say I paid the greatest attention last Tuesday.....but I think light coloured.

From memory, I believe they are a dark colour actually, the same colour as the lid, so either dark brown/grey/olive type thing..

But I would put money on they are dark

You are quite right!!! See here. (Thanks to The Age!!)

The question "The Rok" now becomes, Why?

My partner refuses to use a toilet with a Black Toilet Seat! Something happened during child hood, I have no idea what but it would result in her holding it for the duration of SIN-LHR….

What ever colour was specified on the paperwork. ;)

That would be a feat and I would pity the poor person standing in front of her upon disembarkation.

Maybe invesigate the economy toilet seat colour. Someone may have been in there and can report back as to what colour they are. Probably all the same colour, but if suitable, perhaps your partner could sneak in there.

What about using a disposable toilet seat cover?

I'd second that. Just head down the rear stairs from the upper deck. I recently flew in whY on the A380 & despite being only a handful of spare whY seats I never had to queue for the loo.

I will investigate all the toilets on the plane to see if I can find one that suits! She is petrified of Black Toilet Seats.

Last year we went into the ANZ Koru Lounge @ SYD and she went to use the toilet. Came running back out moments later, despite the fact that the toilets were impeccable it had a black seat so she wouldn't go…

Thanks to all who replied. I will find out tomorrow night when we get on the plane either way!

Many years ago, when I was an Apprentice Fitter and Turner we used to sometimes paint the black seats in the workshop toilets with a substance called something like "Dixons Jointing Compound" (quite black and sticky) and wait out of sight for the cries of rage.

Bearing blue was another favourite....

Vegemite, also.
