Is the 744 being serviced or just extra lift around Xmas?

as air pacific dont have 777s in their fleet...im guessing this short term 'lease package' includes flight deck crew ... but cabin crew can be 'certified' to operate a different aircraft type in a matter of days..im assuming airnz would be providing that training as it's the nearest airline that operates 777s and has the training facilties...:?::?::?:...OR will cabin crew be supplied as well :?::?::?:....which would make alot of airpacific cabin crew 'not happy Jan'!!!....as they would be 'out of a job' for 2months... happy to be corrected if anyone knows otherwise :)

The previous time they did this it was a wet lease from UA complete with crew etc.

thanks for replies :) ...looks like a 'long xmas holiday' for many airpacific flight and cabin crew...hopefully paid leave!!!

I think you will find they are being trained for the A330s.

Will this offer a better cabin experience than their 744s?

Probably similar, both are ex SQ birds where the regional seats etc where kept. The 777 is newer but same seating from what I can see.

Why not use one of QF's old 744 birds that are being retired. We're there any 2 class ones?
