All well & good but the annual transfer limit is still 30,000 which is stupid. I cant even transfer 100,000 of my miles to my mum.

Total Cost: £765.00 for 50000 + 12500 bonus, which is enough for a round trip in PE Syd - HKG.

not bad for a PE trip, saves about $600AUD, better value to use on a J trip though

If anybody is interested I have just under 5,000 VS points in my account. Free to a good home, I don't want anything in return.

(not sure if admin is going to kick my a.ss for this)

What are the taxes and fuel surcharges like with VS??

50000 points will get you an Upper Class one-way fare between virtually any two points operated by VS in the entire network; only exception is SYD/LHR (but you can do SYD/HKG or HKG/LHR).

The bonus miles you get through this promo is just a bit short to allow you to book a chauffeured transfer (in UK, USA and South Africa only) along with that Upper Class award (need 17,500 miles for one chauffeur transfer).

VS do charge YQ; for example, an Upper Class one-way award from LHR/SYD was estimated by VS to have taxes/fees/surcharges amounting to GBP 444.43. Subtract the APD and that still is about GBP 260 or so (a shade under AUD 400).
