Hi there,

First post, so please don't shoot me down too quickly! - Looking for some tips or advice as to help get to WP by end of Jan 2013 (need about 400SCs).

I need to use or lose the return leg of a return LHR -> ADL fare by January 2012 (in category S). I can't get a refund or credit on this half of the fare, so even though I don't have a great desire to get back to the UK / Europe, I may as well 'use it or lose it'

I'm looking for some advice on how to get back to MEL or ADL from the UK, while getting a maximum number of SCs. - Are there any good SC options out of, or intra Europe? I have about 100,000 points. A stop off via India (Delhi) or Manilla would be good.

The JASA ADL -> TSV look like great value, however, I'd still need to get back to MEL / ADL from Europe for this trip. I'm considering a One World Explorer RTW in Y, or another return LHR -> MEL fare which I'll use later 2013.

Any other advice would be much appreciated.

thanks,
Dave

Depends on how much you want to spend really, if you look at a flight from LHR to ADL look at flights from FRA instead, you can route back via LHR for extra SCs but you will avoid the UK APD tax. A return FRA ADL in J on QF will set you back AUD5291 (FRA-LHR-SIN-ADL in J will net you 320SCs and you have the return for somewhere in your next year).
If I recall correctly you can also buy cheap intra Europe tickets on the BA website and then afterwards upgrade them for cash via the BA website and get the J SCs.

thanks for the tips! $5291. Decisions decisions... I think I'll see if I'm able to route through the US for a similar price.
