Qantas leaves Perth in the lurch-again

No wonder they are losing money on international flights, they are far too focussed on Melbourne and Sydney to the detriment of other cities.

Make that Sydney (only).

Internationally, QF pays scant attention to any city in Australia other than their 'home' port.

You have to wonder why they can leave the market, where they should have so much patriotic goodwill, open to more aggressive overseas airlines.

Agree completely longhaul from MEL is pathetic (LHR via SIN, LAX & HGK). Very reduced flights to NZ and searches always have flights via SYD (even MEL-HBA...).
Qantas is the spirit of Sydney.

Recommend CX as alternative to the airline that does not serve its home country.

What routes and from when? Or are you just referring to ADL becoming a daily flight?

I was talking in general.

Over the last few years CX have steadily increasing flights into Oz while QF have been reducing flights to HKG.

From Perth, CX now flies 10 times per week, while QF only 3 times per week.

Last time I was in Sydney, I saw a billboard at the airport saying CX flying 4 times a day to HKG - from memory QF is only 2 times a day.
