Is there an ''AEGEAN" in OW to fast track to Status?

I was just wondering if there is an Aegean equivalent amongst the OW partners to get a gold status or an easier way besides the JASA redeeming etc?

You could look at an AA platinum (equiv QFGold) challenge. Costs a couple hundred or so to do, and needs to be on AA flights (not sure if flight number or metal or both). You'll find it is a little more difficult to retain the status in subsequent years. I am on phone so cannot search properly but there is probably plenty of info on it in the AA forum).

I'm sure a few would argue the A3 equivalent is QF! Otherwise the old BA system for EU residents comes to mind.

Your best hope might be the AA platinum challenge if you're flying AA. Otherwise you already have it pretty easy.

Note the aa challenge has changed again - no longer just wanted metal. QF, jl also count, cx doesn't.

Why does CX often seem the least engaged oneworld airline? No status bonus or luggage allowance for QFF either. Can't understand why CX wouldn't be interested in closer ties with QF, which drove us to the bloody EK deal!

Because they're doing well on their own?

It does seem like CX would have been an ideal partner for many things in Asia, but I don't think CX was a fan of the JQ model at all, and as such that's probably been the problem. But then I don't know much, and I'm sure someone more knowledgable will chime in tomorrow with the real reason.

I must say that I did enjoy hearing the CX CEO say that they were defiantly remaining a premium carrier and weren't attempting to compete in the LCC market.
