Mid-air terror with death threat on Tiger flight between Coolangatta and Sydney | The Courier-Mail

Several passengers aboard Flight TT245 told The Sunday Telegraph the man was acting bizarrely during the 60-minute flight - but really became agitated when quizzed by cabin crew about the number of toilet breaks. One passenger said the man looked so angry the veins on his neck were "popping out" and he was spraying spittle as he shouted four-letter obscenities.

Well that would have been an interesting flight to be on...

To spin this another way, what if he had IBS or some sort of issue with his plumbing, he's a bit embarrassed about it and isn't going to reveal it publicly, so was clearly ticked off when quizzed about his bathroom breaks. Yes, he escalated to a tipping point, but just because he uses the toilet a lot doesn't mean he was going to storm the coughpit.

Love the bit about the captain telling the stewardess (I didn't realise we use this word anymore) that he was flying as fast as he could.

All right, which AFFer was this? :p

Wasn't me!
I have an alibi & additionally - I fear Tigers..

Perhaps the guy in question, was a fearful flyer, had OCD, or even Tourette syndrome.
Certainly not such an intelligent report of the events in reference to the flight though.

Not sure how anyone thought he was going to storm the flight deck.

No doubt a mental health patient. Or practitioner, it's sometime hard to tell them apart. :)

There are some very interesting characters flying on Tiger nowadays.

He said to other passengers 'i hope you have life insurance'. I doubt IBS was his only issue...

Yeah, sometimes when people get riled up they say and do stupid things. In this case, very stupid, but you're just going to assume the whole article, about a Tiger Airways incident, is accurate? Sure okay.

ABC news interviewed the guy that intervened....quote "I just took him down"

One only hopes this flapwit gets banned from all carriers.

When I first read the article, I suspected "roid rage" , certainly the told symptoms seem to match. However, who knows. Mental issues, drug issues etc could all have played a part.

But yeah, he does deserve a break from flying for a significant period of time. I do pity Greyhound/CityRail passengers who would then have to put up with him instead...

News today said he is out on bail for 3 other convictions which he pleaded guilty too. So clearly, it wasn't a case of the runs!
