Not a bad promo and tempting, kind of funny being a new member as an ex SPG Plat though.

Now that you've joined SPG®, you know that every stay gets you closer to Free Night Awards and other amazing benefits.

Here's a great offer to get things going: Register by 31 October 2012, then complete a stay between 01 September 2012 and 31 October 2012, and you'll receive your choice of 3,000 bonus Starpoints or a Free Night Award at a Category 1–5 hotel or resort.

Check out, and then check in to, any of our more than 1,100 hotels and resorts across nine brands — including W®, Le Méridien®, Westin® and Sheraton®. Clear your calendar and start packing.

Register at spg.com/bonusbeginnings to get started and book your next stay today.

Thanks for the heads up. It won't apply to me to me but I am sure I could encourage someone to use it, like book at Cat 1 or 2 and a free stay in a Cat 5 ... win win :)

Ok, so I am a bit lazy tonight (it is Friday after all), where are the good Cat 1 or 2.options to take advantage of this?

There are none in Australia. Easiest I think would be Bangkok. Then there are a handful around other parts of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia.

Thanks, yes when I got over my laziness I did do a bit of a search, Bangkok or China really only options. Unfortunately no chance for me to take advantage. Still hoping Wyndham might make me the same offer!

I signed up for an account via the normal way and then entered my SPG number in the promo page, but it says i am not eligible.

Should I have signed up on the promo page? (I couldn't see how I could when it asked for an SPG number though)

Thanks in advance.
