G'day. I usually book my own travel, but I have a client who has booked me to fly Air Niugini on the PX2 and PX1 between SYD and POM.

I've got my e-tickets (on some travel agent's letterhead). Is there a way I can link my QFF# to this, without having to contact the client/travel agent?

I also wouldn't mind changing my seats while I'm at it. This is my first O/S trip in a few years so I'm a bit green at this, despite flying every week domestically.

Cheers in advance.

If you have the 6 digit booking reference, you can add it to you profile by using the "manage bookings" option on the QF site.
Manage your Qantas booking | Change flights | Check in | Select seats

The code they gave me is MGHxx_ - Qantas doesn't seem to like it :(

Gives me the same error message.

Who is the travel agent? FlightCentre Group use Galileo, JetSet use Sabre. That might help you, as you may have the travel agent's PRN, not Air Niugini.

Or just have to wait and hang on to your boarding passes and claim later.

Emailed the travel agent, they stuck it on for me. Still not showing in the 'Manage My Bookings', but I guess we'll wait and see.

Travel agent is "Travel Services PNG". Booking reference they gave me is a 'Galileo Booking #'.

It depends on which GDS PX uses. If Amadeus, instantaneous. If not, who knows? Check viewtrip.com to see details of Galileo Bookings.

Just claim the points later. I fly Air Niugini a lot, and the points never come through, but are awarded when I claim them later.

My QFF number is in the system, but seems to get ignored.

When I flew with them I used to get the points credit automatically some times and not others, very hit and miss, but no SC's if on a PX number as opposed to the QF number on the same plane from SYD to POM, and it is not a lot of SC's either as it is discount economy, even at $2K return for the QF ticket when the PX ticket was $1,200-1,300 return.

I now usually fly up there via CNS as it is cheaper and gets me more SC's. I am back up there next week for 3 days so flying SYD -CNS on Monday night and then CNS to POM on the Tuesday morning, back on the Friday morning flight to CNS and on to SYD, which also gets in before the POM to SYD direct flight, and saves wasting half a day sitting around in the hotel in POM.

That sound like a Galileo pnr to me. I would call up PX in Oz & ask for their pnr ref then see if you can do your seating online yourself then if you can't call back PX & see if they will do it for you.

Sometimes on FCI itineraries they put the arline pnr under "airline reference nunber". Go over your agent itin again & see if it's hiding somewhere.

Flew Brisbane -Pom -narita return once. Excellent service, cheap flight, no problems with points or SCs.

Living in Port Moresby 25+ years. Always flying Air Niugini.
PX ticket gets QF FF points but no SCs.
QF ticket on PX metal gets both QFF points & SCs.
Keep boarding passes because if points don't come through you need to write to the QFF Office enclosing boarding passes to claim respective entitlements.
Enjoy your trip.
