Hi - researching for a trip at the end of the year and thinking of skiing in Japan - Nagano to be precise, and then flying on to Hawaii. I am trying to find Y+ direct flights but no airline seems to do it. I notice JAL, ANA, Hawaiin, Delta and United all fly there but no one is doing the Y+ to my knowledge from Tokyo airports. Also some airlines are quoting a 9.5 hour (direct) flight and some 6.5 hours (direct).

Does anyone have any alternative ideas - or suck it up and pay J?

HNL to Japan is about 9.5 hours. It will be much shorter going the other direction given the prevailing winds.

I can't think of any airlines you mention there offering Y+ on that sector - the only alternative is to have a look for 'extras' such as emergency exit seats, or 'preferred' seats with extra legroom.

I can see that this is a bit of an old thread, but I would like to ask if anyone has flown JAL from NRT > HNL in either direction & what the service is like. When I was as HNL airport last year I was amazed that I counted at least 7 JAL flights heading back to NRT..... It came across as a very, very busy route with that many flights.

Any thoughts on this route?

can you book a leg as a multi- city on the Qantas website, so far I've had no luck?
