Bought some lovely QF gift vouchers and can't figure out if/how I can use it towards a JASA.
Does anyone know if it can be done?

I ran into a problem buying fares on a voucher. I was trying to do a MEL-BNE-MEL on a $300 voucher iirc. The fare I could find with a normal search was $298. The fares I found with the voucher were all well over $300.

The voucher cannot be used for anything but base fares and exclude taxes. They cannot be used for part payment either, so if you get a $300 voucher, you have to find a fare that has at least a base component of $300.

Vouchers are *not* good on QF (unlike AA where Costco had a 10% off AA gift cards, and then you could use 10% discount codes online for some segments, reducing the fare down by around 18% or so off published rates).

This, is why I never use QF gift cards.

If you know what you're doing QF vouchers are good value.

Gift vouchers can be redeemed by calling Qantas sales:
Vouchers can only be redeemed at qantas.com.au/giftvouchers or through Qantas Contact Centres on 13 13 13. A service fee applies to redemptions through Qantas Telephone

However, there use for an ASA may be problematic.
Redeemable for one-way or return Qantas domestic flights or Qantas international flights departing Australia only. Cannot be used for multi-city bookings.

This!

For a start:
Qantas does not charge a Card Payment fee on Gift Voucher purchases or redemptions.
This can be used to avoid both international and domestic CC fees.

Just buy the $50 ones and off you go ... of course, you need a $50+ actual fare, or $25+ on a return, but that's easy enough for just about all intra/ex Oz Qantas routes.

Serfty - you make it too easy! I like the other threads where we were more cryptic ;)
