I am after some help from you guys, if given the chance to run wild on JASA fares using up to 1.6 Million points where would you travel and in what class? Also based on that what is the rough number of SCs you would expect to get?

I am not after specific status runs, simply wondering roughly how you would use the points.

EG: Return whY Syd-NYC for ~200,000 points achieving roughly 120SCs, etc etc

I’d put them towards JASA/FASA runs to re-qual WP in the DSC, or alternatively aim for P1 despite knowing theres nothing to be gained from having it. When I’ve met my goal, and if the lower, with a hefty point balance still available, I’d save them for my next years re-qual troubles… unless there was somewhere I really want to go, which I don’t, unless there’s a JASA back in time going, anywhere?

If chasing status is not important, then I would spend the points on 5 x OneWorld Award Business Class fares which are 280,000 per award.

If however you wanted status as well as enjoy some very good cabin flights, then JASA or FASA on long haul flights on sectors starring the A380's

This.

Except, I'd have to try first class.

So, if status was no goal, then, 560,000 on first, leaving 1m points for 4 * 280,000 business class round the worlds. I'd, of course, need to chip in some of my own points. If this was not available, 1 * first, 3 * business, rest on a flight to USA that I wouldn't normally take because I could only be there for about 9 days over Christmas/new years.

I'd blow 200000 flying to TSV, DRW and KTA in J. Then whatever for J or F to SIN for the family.

You are in luck as First Class Oneworld award is only 420,000 QFF points and you would have change left over after booking 4 Business class Oneworld awards as well.

I am getting closer to 1,000,000 QFF points. Will try and hold off using them until reach that mark. And then I am going to let myself loose on economy Oneworld awards with the odd boost in the USA to maintain Platinum status....

I've spent that & some on classic awards taking the family on holidays throughout Asia over the past 7 years in J & F....had a great time & enjoyed every point:D

If I was single I would go RTW in F until they all ran out:cool:

i would go coles vouchers and have my shopping sorted for 2 years :P

She has come on every trip:!:

Great old girl....entering her 30th year as a widow and wouldn't go anywhere if she didn't come with us. If she was trouble - she wound't get anywhere near a ticket:)

If I had that many points I'd keep a chunk for my annual Australia-USA trip to be done in JASA/FASA (I've got enough to do that now, so thats my plan for 2013), a second chunk to do some domestic JASAs to keep Plat status (I do like Tasmania, so the CBR-SYD-HBA is the obvious use, don't think I'd mine going two or three times a year) and the third chunk I'd probably use to get my parents to the USA and back (probably a classic award for them since they don't do QFF points/status). My sister lives in the USA with her husband/kids and with my mother's bad legs I can't see her managing it in economy again (I've sometimes thought about buying my parents a trip over to the USA when the companion 2-for-1 fares are on but even Y+ would probably be moderately uncomfortable for her given the duration and J is too expensive unless I get a major pay rise or win a million points or something).

I worked out a bunch of SC runs to do in the USA this year when it looked like I wasn't going to have a RTW, but then I found an affordable RTW fare and canned them (I've been tempted to start a trip report thread to go through the process since plan A was originally an Air Australia BNE-HNL trip, they collapsed, then plan B I missed the cheap Qantas MEL-LHR-LAX-MEL fare I'd seen, so was looking at a straight trip to the USA with a focus on Alaska plus worked out a few SC runs but then just as I was about to start booking flights discovered a cheap AA fare that got me MEL-JFK (stop over), JFK-LHR (stop), LHR-USA (stop), USA-MEL (so basically what I wanted, just costing me several hours more travel time but Qantas A380 between MEL and LAX which I was keen to try out this year, though regretting it a little now since I'm not so keen for the 15hour 50 minute LAX-MEL flight and then the 4 hour drive to my place with only the following day off before returning to work, the MEL-LAX departure time seems far less ideal than the SYD-LAX times which I've always done previously, I'm tempted to try and get up 5am on the departure day just so I have a better chance of sleeping decently on the flight and minimising jet lag).
