Hands up who else will miss the domestic 744 run!!

I've really enjoyed having the 744 service between Per & Syd this past year.

Personally I think it's a dreadful shame to see it go and having spoken to a number of other J pax on my flight Monday (probably my last domestic 744 run), I'm not the only one who is sad to see it ending.

A number of pax I've spoken to over this past year indicated they stick solely with QF for this run because of the 744.

The relatively squashy 763 and 332 domestic J seats are not going to cut it for those use to Skybed!

Hehe did u do it yesterday? I was in 1a for my last domestic 744 Syd-per.

My return flight Is on Sunday on an A333, so shouldnt be too bad

Always arranged my mtg schedules around 581/582 timings to catch the B744. Great value ODU!

Apparently VH-OJD is being kept around for a while after the domestic run ends...

Seems a bit strange to have advertised the 747 service so much over the past year and then cull it just as Virgin gets angled flat beds on the transcontinental?

Maybe OJD will be filling in for the 747's that are leaving the fleet.

I did read somewhere that Qantas were a little over aggressive in their response to Virgin a year ago, so this may be a winding back of that.

What are the loads like on the flight?

When it started the J loads were light but the last three runs the J cabin has been almost full.

The biggest issue QF will face is the domestic A-330 seats on EBO/EBP and 767 J is really not up to scratch... see "legroom woes" above

This thread and the one the other day got me thinking re the jumbo and super jumbo. What are the shortest routes they fly (SIN-HKG for the 388?) and do they make money.

Secondly, would the jumbo be a selling point ex PER internationally? No offense but 330's and 777's are getting a tad boring as there are so many of them

If Qantas want's to combat the DJ A330's they will need skybed or better on those domestic A330's - the current seats just aren't 2012 J quality!

Really there are what 3-4 flights ex-PER that would benefit but would the non Red-eye flights need Skybed type seats?

More leg room would be nice, don't the Dreamtime seats have about 50 inches of pitch? Would an updated Dreamtime type seat not be acceptable?

Ok, ok you're right! I was overstating it a bit.

The Dreamtime would be superb if it had a proper AVOD system - perhaps that's the answer

The reintroduction of Boeing 747 services on the Sydney-Perth route and more Airbus A330 services on the Melbourne-Perth route will increase capacity in the east-west market and give more customers access to the award-winning Skybed prodcut in business class.
