Hi all

I've found a good JASA BNE-SIN QF51 31 May. Departs 13:40

Thinking of booking a separate QF19 SYD(Int T)-BNE(Int) arriving 12:10.

Reasons: Access to F lounge in SYD :) and do not want to be stuck in transit in BNE for 4 hours as a JASA originating from SYD offers 7:35 to 9:05 flight.

It seems to be a legal connection, as it comes up if you do a normal flight search.

Is this too risky as separate bookings?

It's no more risky as two separate bookings as it would be on the same booking. Just tell them when you checkin at SYD of your connecting flight on QF51 so your bags will be checked through to SIN & you'll get both boarding passes for QF19 & QF51 in SYD so you'd just remain in transit airside at BNE Intl Terminal.

No orange 'D' sticker would be required on the SYD/BNE boarding pass as you're doing an int to int connection.

call the WP help desk and ask them to link the pnr's; doesn't guarantee service if missed connections but it makes them more aware.

Seems feasible in my view.. INT/INT x. Checked through baggage?
Yes, will be checking in 1 bag. Yes INT/INT is another reason I like this connection. No messing around with changing terminals.

Agree, risk of missing connection does not change whether same or seperate booking. Worst case scenario if QF19 was delayed, I hope as a WP, they would still assist me, maybe put me on the afternoon QF1 SYD-SIN :p even though it was seperate bookings.

Not that they would actually do it, but if there's a delay in SYD, get it sorted out there. Then simply sit in the F lounge until QF1 departs (or the 744 as QF5).

Either way, just be aware that if you do miss the BNE connection, you would be in quite a lot of trouble.

I've just booked QF19 SYD-BNE (JASA) it departs SYD at 10.30am. We arrive on CX161 HKG-SYD (Classic) arriving at 8.50am therefore, connection time is 1:40mins.

As they are separate bookings I rang the Plat hot line - the agent confirmed connection time is ok & she linked the bookings & sent me via email an itinerary that shows both flights on the one booking reference:p

The agent was very helpful even took the time to explain that I could have saved points if I booked as one booking......which turned out not to be the case as I'm on CX not QF!

So happy that I've stumbled on this QF19 as we get to end the trip with another SYD Flounge sortie;):D

Any trip that starts & ends with SYD Flounge visit has got to be a good one!

Pity its not ending in SYD, and you need to endure BNE international ;)

Close enough for me....lovely shower, eggs benny or another delightful dish & maybe a glass or two of some bubbles:cool::D

Exactly. If you end the trip in SYD the Flounge isn't even an option.

I think I could handle a one hour flight to BNE & arrival at BNE Intl if it was after a interlude in the Flounge.
