We have booked 10 nights at Hilton Fiji in June, and for that length of stay with a boisterous 2 year old a 2BR apartment is a necessity.
Booked a studio beachfront for 17,500 HH points + 107 FJD per night, which I was very happy with. Then I took the offered "e upgrade" options for 1 BR beachfront and 2BR beachfront at 99 FJD and 199 FJD respectively.
So using the e upgrade to a 2BR will cost about $1500 AUD - if we receive it.
When we stayed a year ago we were upgraded from studio beach front to 1BR beachfront and it seemed that was the "standard updgrade" for HH Gold. So now as a HH Diamond is there any chance that the upgrade is to a 2BR apt?
I did notice when we were there last year there were a lot of people paying for upgrades at the desk, and in fact we ending up paying for a further upgrade to a 2 BR with plunge pool. I'm not sure if these are any more expensive that the e upgrades?
I'm concerned that by booking the E upgrade we end up paying for something we may well have received for free. So is it a better strategy to arrive, see what we get, and then pay for an upgrade to a 2BR if there is one available?
