Hi All...

Was reading about the All Black NZ 773 in the papers and how it is scooting around NZ this weekend showing off!

Anyone know the rotation of this bird on the AKL/LAX/LHR run? Travelling NZ 4 May AKL-LAX and would be keen to catch a glimpse it! ;)

Willie,

It's such a beautiful aircraft isn't it!

It made an appearance in Wellington (which was unusual as WLG doesn't get many wide-bodies) and made it's way down to the Warbirds over Wanaka airshow:

In terms of it's rotation I think this could be quite tricky to track as NZ has five 777-300ER's in operation (and they have another 15 or so on order). Try giving Air NZ a buzz and they might be able to tell you...

Let us know how you get on!

Looks so COOL... NZ should be congratulated for coming up with this bit of PR. And I know that black paint has a heavier weight so it will cost a lot more to fly around. (We'll send that bill to the marketing poppets!!!?

I remember the old days in the 80s flying to WLG in a QF 747SP... now they were landings and a take offs to behold! Damn well amazing in a Wellington Westerly or Southerly!

I might call NZ re the All Black 773 rotation ... does anyone know its rego????

Thanks..

Hey Willie

I'm a Wellingtonian so know how awesome it is to get those big birds come in (I remember being able to stand on the rocks and watch the planes come in - awesome - though i'm a bit too young to have seen the SP's, bummer!)....

The aircraft is ZK-OKQ according to this link.

Pics are available here.

It couldn’t have landed at WKA though, surely? And neither at ZQN…

I don't think the 773 did a landing in ZQN (though I can do it in FSX haha...)

I think it flew from WLG down to Wanaka and back up to AKL. Though i'm not sure - may have stopped past CHC....

I also saw an All Black 737 type at AKL a couple of weeks ago. Most impressive as it took off.

It was just doing a flyover, they have 4 aircraft of different types in the scheme.

I have only seen photo's of it but would like to see it in real life.

Hope to see it when in AKL at end of month for BR lunch

It's a regular visitor to Australia, been into Brisbane a number of occasions.

Have seen it at AKL a couple of weeks ago. Looks impressive.

But how about the seating in C class?

But how about the seating in C class?
IMHO, one of the better Business class products going around- both for (consistancy of) service and comfort, especially long haul.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...
