I had a quick look through the search function but I couldn't find an answer that specifically addresses this question so I thought I'd shoot away here.

I have some flights coming up in the near future and being a cattle class kind of guy I have a question about upgrades.

I know that on my flight legs there has been an internal request for an upgrade for both myself and my partner.

The flight is: ADL-SIN-LHR-BKK-SYD-ADL

My question/s are: What are my chances of an upgrade on those legs and what can I do to give me the most chance of the upgrade at check-in

Cheers

Timing is not so much of an issue now, but being Bronze means you are going to be behind the other higher status members in the queue, unless you are not part of the normal points process. In reality the chances of an upgraded can roughly be surmised by loking at the loadings, at least in the negative, if there are no seats available after asking on the flight loading thread, your upgrade is very unlikely to occur. In terms of maximising your chances, a lightly loaded flight mid week is always one of the better options, or when its non business travel periods.

Many thanks for the reply....

Work for myself now so don't travel as much.... QFF Bronze.

I didn't put in the request....someone up the ladder at Qantas put in the request.

I think this will be as much to do with the pull of your friend in QF......if upgrade is available it will be weighing up their clout versus status of other flyers looking for upgrade. Higher the clout...... But always dependent on seat availability of course....

Thanks for the reply....they've got a fair bit of clout so I'd think it will come down to flight loading....I'll check closer to the travel dates.
