Just received in the mail today... a complimentary night's stay in any of the 62 participating properties around the world from The Luxury Collection, W, Westin, Le Meridien and Sheraton.

Not bad at all and there's no requirement to book any additional nights HOWEVER the only property in Australia is the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas (a little too far for a quick week-end away if you are in Sydney...)

Booking period is until either until 29 June or 29 September 2012 for travel between 1 January 2012 and either 30 June or 30 September respectively, depending on the property.

I may try to call AMEX and check if I can book for a friend in case I cannot use it myself?!

I got the offer too. Thanks AMEX...not sure where I could use it tho. Would be interested also to know if I can give it to a third party to use...

be interested in a full list of the 62.
amazing there was no weblink to t&c's

Yeah, I received this 'there are no catches' offer yesterday, too.

Have until Sep 12 to pick property.

Thanks, American Express.

The full list is on the back of the accompanying letter. I don't think there are t&c's to speak of. Once you decide which property and what date, you'd call and book with Platinum Travel Service, and Bob's your uncle!

:p fishes envelope with letter inside out of rubbish bin!

I can see where hotel and Amex benefit...one wouldn't go to destination and book just the one night. So with multiple night stay and other spend like meals, laundry, etc. the hotel will make revenue and Amex, of course, most likely to be beneficiary with use of its cards.

For me, Port seems better option. On trip to Cairns, I can extend my stay by staying in Sheraton Mirage for the one night.

They must be doing this globally as I received with my UK AMEX too.

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using AustFreqFly

I haven't seen anything , been a plat member for some time now

Australia Post efficiency? :D

Not that I am defending AP, but it is quite normal in mail campaigns that it be staggered deliberately so that the "response" is also staggered.
This lessons the resources required to deal with any response.

Plus if all mailed from the one sire, then yes insterstae locations wil take another day or two.

Scanned, cropped, sharpened and darkened.
Hopefully readable for all.

Any mail via or from Sydney ( in my experience) takes at least 5 days longer to arrive in Qld.
Mail from NZ is quicker to uk than to Qld !
