As always, we've been listening, and we hear you on the hot dinners so, as of today, we are pleased to provide a weekday hot dish option in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane lounges. :)

In addition to the toasties, soups, salads, themed meal and pass-around pizza and coughtails pies (5-7pm), you can now enjoy a hot dog, curry, or Mexican feast. A sample of what's on offer (Sydney lounge dinner menu) follows:

Pass arounds 5-7pm - mozzarella pizza, lamb and rosemary mini-pies; minestrone soup; Israeli cous cous, Thai noodle, potato with sour cream and herbs salads; make your own Greek salad - meatballs, tzatiki, Greek salad (no feta), marinated feta cheese, pita pocket, Mexican cantina - chickpea & chorizo, tortillas, avocado dip, sour cream, corn chips, caramel slice, and a cheese plate. While hot dogs are on Melbourne's menu, and curry is in Brisbane.

This has of course been designed by our chef, Luke Mangan!

We're also pleased to bring you a more premium wine selection to enjoy it with!

This quarter's selection is an all-Australian selection focusing on hero regions and offering boutique and big name brands - including Margan Rose, Capel Vale Sav Blanc, Knappstein Riesling, Phillip Shaw Chardonnay, Josef Chromy Pinot Noir, Pikes Shiraz, and Katnook Cab Sauv.

For the beer drinkers, Asahi returns to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, Corona added to Brisbane selection, and Beez Neez to Sydney's range.

Note: Beer & wine change quarterly, food monthly with a different menu on offer in each lounge. New menus on the bar and buffet will also keep you up to date on what's on offer.

Thank you again for your feedback, we appreciate your suggestions and will continue to review and revise to provide greater choice and improve the overall lounge experience.

Well, hi there .. :D

Thanks for the update!! Looks great :)

Interesting selection, though for some reason reading all that gives me a little heart attack.

Maybe I'm just not hungry right now.

This is a step in the right direction!

What would make this even better is rice and a chicken curry type set-up in all lounges!

Cheap and probably a little nicer than hot dogs....

Maybe it's because I missed lunch, but that curry looks very nice!

Great to see hot food options now available, it was the one thing (apart from spirits) that as missing in the lounge.

Good to hear! I must admit, I missed this yesterday but my lunch in MEL was great anyway!

Now, no time to dilly-dally, what about the in-flight menu next ;)

Then all that'll be complained about is delay in points posting and ife. List is getting shorter.

(PS, welcome back VA, I trust you had a great Christmas/New Year break)

+1 for bloody nice wine :) however, since I fly out of NTL on the daily flight to Melb and there is no lounge, sadness :(, and when I fly back I only have Jet* to choose from as the daily Virgin flight back is usually too early for me to get everything done, but thanks for reading up and listening and most importantly dishing it up. Once again, a better selection than the Q club, i'm noticing that you are noticing, and i'm booking as many Virgin flights I can because of it even if I don't get to sample the curry.

Great news on the Lounge menu! Thanks for listening VA.

However, the new in-flight PAYG menu is still missing anything that resembles a breakfast :(

Can we please have a report on the curry. I need to know if extra chilli is required

Great news - it will be nice to have a change every month.
And those wines will be most enjoyable!

Did Luke Mangan really come up with the Hotdog item? Complete with Heinz Ketchup. I would have thought, perhaps a tomato relish. Perhaps.

Does the PER Lounge Menu get a upgrade to?

LMHD - Luke Mangan Hot Dog.

Sheesh - the abbreviation sounds like some sort of drug.
